Romancing the Gothic World Tour

One of my favourite things about Romancing the Gothic is learning about horror, Gothic and supernatural traditions around the world. So you too can armchair travel your way through international histories of horror and the Gothic, I’ve made a Romancing the Gothic World Tour Map

A map showing talks from around the world

You can access the map yourself here and click to watch talks that investigate different traditions, specific authors and specific texts from lots of different countries.

A couple of notes on how I put it together:

As many of our talks focus on the US and the UK, I’ve only included those talks that are place specific or that specifically interact with national histories or folklore.

As some talks cover multiple countries, I have attached each talk to one relevant country.

ENJOY!

This started off as a story blog to share the little fictions that I like to write but it's turned into something a bit more Goth! I'm Dr Sam Hirst and I research the Gothic, theology and romance and at the moment I'm doing free Gothic classes online! We also have readalongs, watchalongs and reading groups. And I post fun little Gothic bits when I have the chance. Find me on twitter @RomGothSam

  1. Hey, there’s Pedro Páramo, las momias de Guanajuato and Mexican horror films, starting during the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema–this is SO COOL!

    Thank you!
